New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Sunday announced the postponement of Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations scheduled for March 2, 2026, in select West Asian countries, citing the prevailing situation in the region.
The decision applies to CBSE-affiliated schools in Bahrain, Iran, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Which exams have been postponed?
According to an official circular, all examinations planned for Monday, March 2 for both Class X and Class XII students in the affected countries have been postponed.
CBSE stated that revised dates will be announced later.
Students have been advised to stay in close contact with their respective schools and follow only official updates issued by the Board.
The Board further informed that it will review the situation on March 3, 2026, and take a decision regarding examinations scheduled from March 5 onwards.
Any further changes will be communicated through official channels.
The postponement comes amid escalating tensions in parts of the Middle East following major military developments involving the United States and Israel and subsequent retaliatory actions by Iran across the region.
Authorities in several Gulf countries have heightened security measures as a precaution.
