Institute of Nano Science and Technology, an Autonomous Institute of Department of Science and Technology, Govt of India, Habitat Centre, Phase X, Sector 64, Mohali, Punjab-160062, has invited applications for admission to the Ph.D. Program -January, 2021 session.
The Institute offers PhD Programmes in several areas of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology such as, Quantum Materials & Devices, Energy & Environment, Chemical Biology, Computational Nanoscience, etc. The research activities at INST is accessible at http://www.inst.ac.in/scientists.php under Units and Research. Selected Ph.D. students will be provided fellowship as per INST and Govt. of India norms. Students with an independent source of fellowship, such as, CSIR-NET (JRF), UGC-NET (JRF), etc are encouraged to apply.
Eligibility: Applicant should hold a M.Sc.in Physics/ Chemistry/ Material Sciences/Life Sciences/M.Pharm./M.Tech.in Basic, Applied Sciences or Engineering and related areas. Applicant should also have qualified in one of GATE/CSIRorUGC-NET/JEST/JGEEBILS (TIFR/NCBS)/ICMR-JRF/DBT-JRF/DST-INSPIRE/GPAT/ICAR. Students registered with IISER Mohali for their BS-MS program can apply as per IISER Mohali’s norm.

Duly filled application form together with the images or scanned copies of all the testimonials consolidated into a single PDF file should be sent to apply@inst.ac.in as an advanced copy of the application. Synopsis has to be submitted online at the link provided in the Notification.
The hard copy of application with (i) Photograph duly pasted on the application form (ii) Application fees (iii) Self-Attested photocopies of Certificates/Testimonials in support of age, educational qualifications (Mark Sheet, Degrees & Certificates of class X and above) (iv) Experience certificate in case of working candidate (v) Self-attested photocopy of valid certificate for candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/PH category should be sent by Registered/Speed Post/Courier/By Hand to ‘The Director, Institute of Nano Science and Technology, Habitat Centre, Phase - 10, Sector - 64, Mohali, Punjab-160062’ so as to reach on or before, 10th November,2020. The list of the shortlisted candidates will be uploaded to the Institute (INST) website. The shortlisted candidates will be called for Interview via email address provided by candidate.
Ph.D. Interview will be conducted via Online Mode. In case, Institute switch to the offline mode, the candidates called for interview will be paid sleeper class rail fare or Non AC Bus Fare (on production of ticket) from place of residence to Institute and back.
