Satish Dhawan Space Centre Sriharikota (SHAR), Tirupati District, Andhra Pradesh-524 124, under Indian Space Research Organisation, Department of Space, Government of India; has invited applications for one position of Research Associate-I (RA-I)

The position of Temporary Research Associate is purely temporary and selected candidates shall be engaged initially for a period of three years, extendable up to the validity of the project. In any case, the maximum period of engagement shall not exceed five years.

Emoluments & other Benefits: Rs. 58,000/- per month (consolidated payment) and House Rent Allowance as applicable (if they are not provided with hostel accommodation). In addition, the Research Associates are eligible for medical benefits for self and Leave entitlement as per the rules of SDSC SHAR. 

Essential qualification: Ph.D in Meteorology /Atmospheric Sciences/ Oceanography/ Physics/ Applied Physics With Meteorology or equivalent subjects as the main subject or ME/M.Tech in Atmospheric Science/Ocean sciences with at least 3 years of research experience with at least one research paper in Science Citation Index (SCI) journal related to Atmospheric/ Oceanic/ Climate Sciences. Essential qualification of ME/M.Tech or equivalent degree should be in First class with a minimum of 60% marks (aggregate of all semesters) or CGPA/CPI grading of 6.5 on a 10 Point scale. Pre-qualification of BE/B.Tech/MSc or equivalent degree should also be in First Class with an aggregate of 65% marks (average of all semesters) or CGPA of 6.84 on a 10 Point scale. 

Desirable: Well acquainted in computer programming, Linux etc and publications in peer reviewed journals related to atmospheric/oceanic/climate sciences. Demonstrated skill in weather and climate modeling/ observational techniques and data analysis etc supported by peer reviewed publications

Age Limit: 18–35 years as on 02.01.2025. Upper age is relaxable by 5 years in case of SC/ST and 3 years in case of OBC (NCL) candidates. Age relaxation as per Government of India orders is applicable for PWBD and Ex-Servicemen. SC/ST/OBC/PWBD/Ex-Servicemen candidates should produce relevant Certificate as issued by the competent authorities for availing upper age relaxation.
