National Sports University, Imphal, Manipur, a Central University under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, has invited applications for admission to various undergraduate and postgraduate programs for 2025-26.

The Programs and Eligibility are as follows

Undergraduate Programs: (i) Bachelor of Science in Sports Coaching (Archery, Athletics, Badminton, Boxing, Football, Shooting, Swimming, and Weightlifting) [B. Sc. (Sports Coaching)]; 4 years (8 semesters) (ii) Bachelor of Physical Education and Sports [BPES] (3/6): Passed 12th standard scheme of examination/equivalent with 50% marks (45% for SC/ST) in the qualifying examination.

For Bachelor of Science in Sports Coaching, the applicant must have participated in District/Zonal, CBSE-Cluster/Zonal, KVS/NVS-Regional, DAV/SAINIK/Vidya Bharati-Zonal, Subroto Cup (District Level), Inter School (District Level)/Other School Boards Competitions (District Level) organised by District Sports Association, District/Zonal/Regional Directorate of Education/School Boards/School Games Federation of India (SGFI)/State Associations/National Sports Federations (NSF) recognized by Indian Olympic Association in the Sports Disciplines offered by NSU.

Postgraduate Programs: (i) Master of Science in Sports Coaching (Archery, Athletics, Badminton, Boxing, Football, Shooting, Swimming and Weightlifting) [M.Sc. (Sports Coaching)] (2/4) (ii) Master of Arts in Sports Psychology [M.A. (Sports Psychology)] (2 /4) (iii) Master of Physical Education and Sports [MPES] (2/4): An undergraduate Degree with PG Diploma/Diploma in Sports Coaching or B.P.Ed./B.P.E.S./B.Sc. (SC) (3 Years) with PG Diploma/Diploma in Sports Coaching or B.Sc. (SC) (4 Years) or equivalent with 50% marks (45% for SC/ST) in qualifying examination (iv) Master of Science in Applied Sports Nutrition [M.Sc. (Applied Sports Nutrition)] (2/4) with exit option with PG Diploma in Sports Nutrition (1/2): Undergraduate degree in any of the following discipline(s): nutrition/food & nutrition/applied nutrition/nutrition & dietetics/home science/food science/applied nutrition & public health/clinical nutrition & dietetics, or an equivalent degree in sports science/exercise/human or medical physiology/biochemistry or a Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medical Science (BAMS) or B.P.E.S. or B.P.Ed. or B.Sc. (SC) or any other UG programme with sports nutrition as one of the courses. Applicants need to have secured 50% marks (45% for SC/ST) in the qualifying examination.

Participation in any Sports or Games is desirable for Master of Arts in Sports Psychology [M.A. (Sports Psychology)]

Age Limit: The minimum age limit for the B.Sc. (SC) and B.P.E.S. programme is 17 years as of 1st July 2025. The upper age limit for B.Sc. (SC) is 25 years and BPES is 23 years as of 1st July 2025. Relaxation in age shall be as per Government of India Rules. There is no age limit for postgraduate programmes.

The application fee is Rs. 1000/- per course, to be paid via Net Banking/Debit/Credit Card/UPI/Wallet/Paytm. Those who wish to apply for more than one course should register separately using a separate email ID & phone number and pay the application fee for each. Those candidates whose examination results are awaited can also apply. However, admission will be subject to meeting the eligibility criteria on the date of admission.

Selection: Admission to the programmes will be based on the National Sports University Entrance Examination (NSUEE) to be held on 8th July 2025, as well as programme-specific assessments, including the Physical Fitness Test, Game Proficiency, Viva Voce, and Sports Achievement of the candidates. The entrance examination, physical fitness test, etc., will be conducted offline at the admission test centers. Those applying for B.Sc. (SC) and BPES will have a common entrance examination. Those applying for PG courses will have to appear for separate examinations for the courses for which they have applied. The scheme of the admission test is given in the prospectus. International athletes are eligible for direct admission to all the UG and PG programmes subject to the conditions specified in the prospectus.
