Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research (JNCASR), Bengaluru, has invited online applications for admission to Postgraduate and Research Programmes -2022.

Programs: (i) Master of Science (M.Sc) in Chemistry with the option to specialize in Materials Chemistry/Chemical Biology / Energy (2 years) (ii) Integrated Ph.D. Programmes (iii) Research Programmes [(Ph.D. / MS(Engg.) / MS(Research)]

For admission to M.Sc in Chemistry, applicant should have  Bachelor’s degree with minimum 55% marks in any branch of Science with Chemistry as a major subject and should have qualified the Joint Admissions Test for Masters (JAM). Shortlisted JAM candidates will be called for an interview directly. The final selection is based on the performance in the interview.

For admission to the Integrated Ph.D Programmes in Physical Science (Specialization in Materials), Chemical Science and Biological Science, applicants should have Bachelor’s degree with 55% marks in the subject specified in the detailed Notification. Those appearing in the final examination of their Bachelor’s degree this year may also apply Those qualified in the Joint Admissions test for Masters (JAM) are encouraged to apply.

Shortlisting for interviews for selection to the Integrated Ph.D Physical Sciences and Integrated Ph.D Chemical Science Programme will be based on JAM score. For Biological Science, shortlisting is based on online exam (Multiple Choice Questions). The final selection to the Integrated Ph.D Program will be based on the performance in the interview.

Research Programmes [Ph.D/M.S(Engg.)/M.S(Research)] in Sciences and Engineering: Admissions are offered in (i) Chemistry and Physics of Materials Unit (ii) Engineering Mechanics Unit (iii) New Chemistry Unit (iv) Theoretical Sciences Unit (v) Evolutionary and Integrative Biology Unit (vi) Neuroscience Unit and (vii) Molecular Biology and Genetics Unit. Applicants should have M.Sc or equivalent, BE/B.Tech or equivalent or

ME/MTech or equivalent or B.VSc/M.VSc or MBBS/MD as applicable to individual Units. They should have at least 55% marks in their highest University examination and should also have qualified in any one of the National exams: GATE/JEST/GPAT/UGC-JRF/CSIR-JRF/ICMR-JRF/DBT-JRF/INSPIRE-JRF. Candidates are short-listed for an interview based on their performance in the national entrance test and qualifying degree. The selection is based on the performance in the interview (in some units, an aptitude test/preliminary interview may precede the final interview).

Scholarships: All the regular students [except Master of Science (M.Sc) in Chemistry] joining JNCASR are eligible for a scholarship from JNCASR/ CSIR / UGC/ ICMR / DBT /INSPIRE depending upon their mode of entry.
