Translational Health Science and Technology Institute (THSTI), NCR Biotech Science Cluster, 3rd Milestone, Faridabad-Gurugram Expressway, Faridabad; an Institute of Biotechnology Research and Innovation Council (BRIC), Dept. of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science and Technology; engaged in conducting innovative translational research and developing research collaborations across disciplines and professions to translate concepts into products to improve human health, has invited applications for the BRIC THSTI Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) Ph.D. Program for 2025-26 (Monsoon Session).

Those from medical sciences, biological sciences, chemical sciences, chemistry, physical sciences, mathematics, and information sciences are eligible to apply.

Eligibility: Applicants from the domain of Medical Sciences, Biological Sciences, Chemical Sciences, physical sciences, and Information Sciences should hold Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) of UGC, CSIR, ICMR, or DBT or Senior Research Fellowship (SRF) of 3 years, which should be extendable for 2 more years for pursuing Ph.D.

Applicants from the domain of Chemistry and Mathematics should hold Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) of UGC, CSIR, ICMR, DBT, NBHM or UGC (Category - II/ III) or Senior Research Fellowship of 3 years which should be extendable for 2 more years for pursuing Ph.D.

The validity for activation of the fellowship shall be for a period of at least 4 months from 27th July, 2025.

Selection: Shortlisted candidates will be called directly for the interview. The list of selected candidates will be published on the THSTI’s website. The interview will take place at THSTI, NCR BSC, 3rd Milestone, Faridabad Gurgaon Expressway, Faridabad. Selection will be made based on the applicant’s performance in the interview.

No. of seats: 10 (UR: 4; OBC: 2; SC: 1; ST: 2; EWS: 1).

Those who have obtained fellowship under the OBC/SC/ST category will be entitled to fill up OBC/SC/ST seats, respectively. Such candidates must upload their scorecard while filling the online application form. In case the scorecard is not made available by the exam-conducting agency at the time of form submission, it must be produced at the time of the interview.

The Ph.D. Program at THSTI is governed by JNU rules. Further details are available at www.jnu.ac.in.

Selected students will have to undergo Ph.D. courseworkfor 2 semesters. Those successfully completing the Ph.D. courseworkrequirement will be recommended to JNU for Ph.D. registration. For the award of the doctoral degree, the candidate will have to complete all the requirements as per the JNU rules.

Admission fees, annual fees, registration fees, or any other fees levied by JNU shall be payable by the student.

Selected students will have the option of shared hostel accommodation in lieu of their HRA.

Applications can be submitted online latest by 27th July, 2025.

The application fee is Rs. 236/- for Unreserved/OBC/EWS categories and Rs. 118/- for SC/ST/Women/PwBD applicants. The payment can be made by using a debit card, credit card, internet banking, or UPI.

On successful submission of the application, an auto-generated email containing the reference number will be sent to the email address provided, which may be noted by the applicant for future correspondence. Candidates may keep a printout of the online application form by using the print button on the dashboard for future reference.

Those appearing in the final examination of their master’s degree may also apply. However, the result must be declared, and the final mark sheet must be produced at the time of the Ph.D. interview.
