
BRIC National Institute of Immunology (NII), an autonomous research institute of BRIC, Department of Biotechnology, Government of India; Aruna Asaf Ali Marg, New Delhi-110067 has notified the admission to its Ph.D. Programme for the Academic Year 2025-26 (Monsoon Session)
NII is engaged in cutting-edge research encompassing broad interdisciplinary areas of Immunology, Infectious and Chronic Disease Biology, Molecular and Cellular Biology, Chemical Biology, Structural Biology and Computational Biology.
Eligibility: Applicant should hold M.Sc. in any branch of science (e.g. Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics), M.Tech., M.B.B.S., M.V.Sc., M.Pharm., Integrated M.Sc., or equivalent qualification as per the norms of the Regional Centre for Biotechnology (RCB), Faridabad, Haryana with at least 60% aggregate score (55% for OBC (NCL), SC/ST, PwD and EWS categories)/equivalent grade in the qualifying examination. Rounding off the percentage score to the next integral value is not permitted.
Applicants must have a valid doctoral fellowship sponsored by one of University Grants Commission (UGC), the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), the Indian Council for Medical Research (ICMR), the Department of Biotechnology (DBT) or any other Government-recognised agency. Students with DST-INSPIRE fellowship are also eligible provided the fellowship can be activated.
Those appearing for the qualifying examination in the current academic year are eligible to apply. They will be admitted provisionally pending satisfactory fulfilment of the eligibility requirements at the time of joining.
Those awaiting results for the fellowship examination results are also eligible to apply for the entrance examination. However, they will be invited for interviews only if they secure their fellowship.
Reservations of seats will be as per Government of India Guidelines/Policy.
Selection: Selection will be only through the computer-based Entrance Examination, NII 2025-26 M (Monsoon-Session), to be conducted by NII at multiple centers across India on 11th May, 2025 (Sunday). The list of candidates short-listed for interviews will be available on the NII website and Notice Board on or before 16th May, 2025. Interviews (two rounds) will be held online during 3rd - 10th June, 2025. Those selected will be enrolled for the Ph.D. programme of NII in academic affiliation with RCB, Faridabad, Haryana.
The programme will start on 1st July, 2025. The allotment of laboratories and thesis supervisors will be made by 09th July, 2025 based on the interactions with faculty members in the candidate’s area of interest and mutual preference. All candidates must activate their Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) from CSIR, UGC, ICMR, DBT, DST on joining NII.
NII is a residential campus. Shared hostel accommodation will be provided to all the students admitted to the program.
