APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University, CET Campus PO, Thiruvananthapuram – 695 016, has invited applications for Admission to the 2-year (four semesters) M.Tech programmes in the Schools of the APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University for the Academic Year 2025-26.

Schools and M.Tech Program offered are as follows (i) Building Sciences and Technology – M,Tech. in Infrastructure Engineering and Management (ii) Communication Sciences and Technology- Embedded Systems Technologies (iii) Electrical Sciences and Technology- Electric Vehicle Technology (iv) Mechanical Sciences and Technology - Mechanical and Materials Technology. There are 18 seats for each M.Tech programmes.

Admission Criteria: Admissions are based on valid GATE scores. In the absence of such candidates, admission will be considered based on rank obtained in the Entrance Test or Interview conducted by the University.

In the case of candidates having identical scores (GATE/University Entrance/Interview), percentage of marks in the qualifying degree will also be considered for the preparation of final rank list. If Qualifying Degree Marks are also identical, the Date of Birth will be considered (a person born earlier will get a higher preference).

Academic Eligibility: Applicant should have a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/ Technology/ Engineering Science under the 10+2+4/10+3+3 scheme from the APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University or an equivalent degree in the appropriate branch from a University/Deemed to be University/institution approved by AICTE/UGC/Government with a minimum CGPA of 6.0 on a 10-point scale or 60% aggregate marks (minimum CGPA of 5.5 or 55% marks for SEBC/OEC candidates and a pass for SC/ST and PWD candidates). Those who are awaiting final semester/year results of qualifying examination can also apply. Basic Qualifying Degree for each Program is specified in Annexure I of the Prospectus at https://lbscentre.in/.

Applicants should have a Valid GATE score in the appropriate branch or should be included in the rank list of Entrance Test/Interview conducted by the University.

Those with the following eligibility can also apply. (i) First Class Master’s degree with appropriate specialization from APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University or equivalent degree in the appropriate branch from a University/Deemed to be University/Institution approved by AICTE/UGC/Government, through regular study under the 10+2+3+2/10+2+3+3 scheme and a Valid GATE score in the appropriate branch OR are Included in the rank list of APJAKTU Entrance Test/Interview (ii) Pass in AMIE/AMIETE examinations having passed Section A of AMIE/AMIETE and achieved a minimum CGPA of 6.0 on a 10-point scale or minimum 60% marks in section B of the AMIE/AMIETE examination and have a valid GATE score. The AMIE/AMIETE candidates who have no valid GATE score shall not be considered for admission.

There is no upper age limit for admission to these programmes.

Registration: Applicants can register for admissions through the link at the Notification link at https://lbscentre.in/. They should upload scanned copies of supporting documents (educational qualification, reservation etc.), signature and photograph. After successful submission, candidates should download and print a copy of the completed application form for future reference.

Registration Fee: Registration fee is Rs.400/- for SC/ST Rs.400/- and Rs. 800/- for others. The amount may be paid online.

The last date for submission of application is 30.6.2025.

Entrance Test/Interview: Non-GATE candidates must take the Entrance Test/Interview for admission. The entrance test will be objective type and in English language. The date and time, details of exam centres and syllabus for entrance test/interview will be published on the University website.

Publication of Rank list: Rank list for admission will be published in the University website.

Allotment: The allotment list will be published in the University website. All candidates included in the Rank List are considered for allotment under Open Merit/Community Merit subject to availability of seats. The allotment of seats under Open Merit will be purely on a merit basis irrespective of the Category/Community to which the candidates belong.

Fee per semester is Rs. 25,000/-. Caution Deposit is Rs. 5,000/- for all categories.
