Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology (MNNIT) Allahabad, Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh- 211004, has invited applications for admission to the PhD Program for the Academic Session, 2025 (Odd Semester).

PhD Admissions are offered in the Department of (i) Applied Mechanics (ii) Biotechnology (iii) Chemical (iv) Chemistry (v) Civil Engineering (vi) Computer Science and Engineering (vii) Electrical Engineering (viii) Electronics and Communication Engineering (ix) Geographic Information System [GIS] (x) Humanities and Social Sciences (xi) Mathematics (xii) Mechanical Engineering (xiii) Physics and (xiv) School of Management Studies. Department wise areas of research is given in the Information Brochure at https://www.mnnit.ac.in/ (can be accessed through the Notification in the Announcements link) 

All the Departments offer full-time and part-time Doctoral Programmes under following categories:

(i)Institute Stipendiary Full- Time Research Scholar -Students with Institute fellowship on a Semester–to-Semester basis on the satisfactory academic performance. GATE/NET requirement is mandatory.

(ii) Sponsored Full-Time Research Scholar- Receiving fellowship from agencies such as CSIR / UGC / ICAR / ICMR /DST / DRDO / NPCIL / GPAT /similar national level entrance tests in relevant discipline. GATE/NET not required.

(iii) Sponsored Part-Time Research Scholar - Employees of Government / Semi-Government Organizations / R&D Organizations or government academic institutions, Industry /academic institution of repute with minimum standing of 10 years. GATE/NET not required.

(iv) Faculty / Staff / Sponsored Project Fellow of MNNIT Allahabad: Part- Time Research Scholar, with/without GATE/NET- Faculty / Staff / Sponsored Project Fellow of MNNIT Allahabad, with/without GATE/NET.

Eligibility

(i) Ph.D. in Engineering - Master Degree in relevant branch of Engineering/Technology with minimum 60% marks or CPI 6.5 (55% or CPI 6.0 for SC/ST/PwD) or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Master’s Degree in Science/Applied biological sciences/Computer Application or any appropriate discipline or equivalent with a minimum 70% marks or CPI 7.5 (65% or CPI 7.0 for SC/ST/PwD) 

(ii) Ph.D. in Management, Humanities and Social Science- Master’s Degree in Management / Technology / Engineering / Economics / Commerce /Science / Computer Applications / Social Science / Humanities with a minimum 60% marks/CPI 6.5 (55% or CPI 6.0 for SC/ST/PwD) or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent with a minimum 70% marks/CPI 7.5 (65% or CPI 7.0 for SC/ST/PwD) or Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) having minimum 3 years of professional experience as practicing Chartered Accountant with minimum 60% marks/equivalent CPI 6.5 (55% or CPI 6.0 for SC/ST/PwD) at both graduation level, as well as CA Examination 

(iii) Ph.D. in Sciences- Master’s Degree in relevant discipline with a minimum 60% Marks or CPI 6.5 (55% or CPI 6.0 for SC/ST/PwD) or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent with marks not below 70% or CPI 7.5 (65% or CPI 7.0 for SC/ST/PwD). 

(iv) Ph.D. in Geographic Information System (GIS) Cell: M.Tech./equivalent degree in GIS & Remote Sensing or equivalent discipline/Civil Engineering/ Computer Science and Engineering /Electronics Engineering /Electrical Engineering / Mechanical Engineering /Information Technology /Agriculture Engineering /Mining Engineering; with minimum 60% marks/CPI 6.5 (55% or CPI 7.0 for SC/ST/PwD) or M.Sc. or equivalent degree in GIS & Remote Sensing/Applied Geology/Geophysics/Geography/ Environmental Science/Computer Science/Mathematics with minimum 70% marks/CPI 7.5 (65% or CPI 7.0 for SC/ST/PwD) or Degree in Master of Computer Application with minimum marks 70%/CPI 7.5 (65% or CPI 7.0 for SC/ST/PwD) or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with a minimum of 70% marks/CPI 7.5 (65% or CPI 7.0 for SC/ST/PwD) (Candidates meeting above mentioned eligibility criteria must have Mathematics as subject up to 10+2 level)

Application can be submitted online at the appropriate link at https://www.mnnit.ac.in/ latest by April 21, 2025.

Application fee is Rs. 1200/- (Rs. 600/- for SC/ST/PwD candidates) to be paid online. One can apply to a maximum of 2 Departments with a single application and single application fee. Separate additional application form must be filled and application fee paid if applying for more than 2 departments.  

Applicants should take a printout of the filled form, paste same photograph which was uploaded, attach all required documents and send it to the respective department at the address mentioned in the Information Bulletin. 

Last date for receipt of the printed and signed application form April 28, 2025.
