Director of Technical Education, Kerala, has invited application for admission to the two years (four semesters) Master of Computer Applications (MCA) Programme, Kerala in institutions approved by AICTE, NOC of Government and University affiliation for 2025-26.

The course is intended to train graduates in the development and use of software for different applications. The major thrust is on giving the students a sound background in computing, business functions and Mathematics relevant to Information Technology. 

Eligibility: Applicant should have any Graduation degree (B.E. / B.Tech./B.Sc / B.Com. / B.A./ B. Voc./ BCA etc.,) preferably with Mathematics at 10+2 level or at Graduation level, and obtained at least 50% marks (45% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in the qualifying examination. Applicant should be qualified from any of the Universities in Kerala or any other Universities, recognized by any of the Universities in Kerala.

No rounding off percentage of marks to the nearest higher integer is permitted.

For students having no Mathematics background, compulsory bridge course will be framed by the respective University/ Institution and additional bridge courses related to computer subjects as per the norms of the concerned University. 

Final Year regular Bachelor’s Degree students are also permitted to apply subject to the condition that the original degree certificate and mark lists of all parts of the qualifying examination shall be produced by the candidate at the time of admission. 

Entrance Examination: Selection will be based on an Entrance Examination of two hours’ duration to be conducted at selected venues in Thiruvananthapuram, Ernakulam and Kozhikode on a date to be announced later. The test will have 120 Objective type multiple choice Questions from (i) Computer Science (50 questions - Problem Solving with Computer Programming, Digital Fundamentals & Computer Organization, Database Fundamentals) (ii) Mathematics & Statistics (25 questions - Plus-2 Level Topics) (iii) Quantitative Aptitude, Logical Ability (25 questions - Graduate level questions) (iv) English (15 questions - Basic Grammar & Comprehension) and (v) General Knowledge (5 questions- Current Affairs). Each question carries 1 mark. There is no negative mark for incorrect answers. Application: Applications can be submitted online at https://lbscentre.in/. 

Application Fee for General and SEBC candidates is Rs.1300/-. For SC/ST candidates it is Rs.650/-. It can be remitted online or at any one of the branches of Federal Bank in Kerala, using Challan that can be downloaded from the application website latest by 20.5.2025. 

After remittance of Application fee, necessary documents have to be uploaded and the application has to be completed by May 22nd 2025.

Allotment: The Centralized Allotment Process (CAP) will be done through a Single Window System (SWS) to give allotments to the colleges under CAP based on the options submitted online by the candidates who have been included in the rank list for admission to the MCA Course 2025-26 Kerala. Details are given in the Prospectus. 

List of colleges that participated in the CAP 2024-25 is given in the Prospectus. There were 3 Govt Institutions, 2 Aided Institutions, 5 Government Cost-Sharing Colleges, 45 Self Financing Institutions Final list for 2025-26 will be published in the website later.

The fee structure will be notified through Government Orders issued in this regard from time to time. Candidates who get allotment in Government/Aided colleges will have to remit the prescribed fee and those who get allotment in self-financing college will have to remit a token fee of Rs 10,000/- as part of tuition fee.

Fee Structure for 2024-25 was as follows: (i) Government/Aided Colleges - Rs.7,640/- (5% hike will be added as per Govt. Orders issued from time to time) (ii) Govt. Cost Sharing/ Private Colleges- Token fee of Rs.10,000/- to be paid initially. Fee for SC/ST/OEC and others having fee concession- Token fee of Rs.1,000/-
