Defence Institute of Advanced Technology (DIAT), a Deemed to be University; Department of Defence Research & Development, Ministry of Defence, Govt. of India Girinagar, Pune - 411 025, has notified the recruitment of a Junior Research Fellow in the Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering of this Institute, to work under SERB sponsored research project entitled ‘Fatigue resistance of selectively laser melted (SLM) Ti-6Al-4V alloy’.

Educational Qualifications: Applicants should hold a B.E./ B.Tech/ M.Sc in First Division with NET/GATE or M.E./ M.Tech in First Division both at Graduate and Post graduate level. 

Specialization: Materials Engg. / Materials Science / Mechanical Engg. / Metallurgical Engg & Material Science/ Metallurgy/ Manufacturing Engg. / Manufacturing Science/ Production Engg. / Instrumentation Engg/ Basic Science/ Civil/ Industrial Engg or equivalent.

Age limit: Upper age limit should not exceed 28 years as on 28th March, 2024. Upper age-limit is relaxable up to 05 years for SC/ST, Women & PwBD and 03 years for OBC (NCL) candidates.

Stipend: Monthly stipend payable is Rs.37,000/- (Consolidated). In addition to the monthly stipend, medical facilities limited to MI Room facilities shall be extended to the incumbent.

Duration: The position is temporary for a period of 03 years or coterminous with the project, whichever is earlier. 

Recruited JRF shall be encouraged to register for Ph.D at the institute through proper channels as per DIAT norms. Hostel accommodation may be provided subject to the availability on payment basis. 

Selection: Selection will be based on interview which will be in-person or via video conferencing, whichever is suitable to DIAT and the same shall be intimated to the shortlisted candidates.
