Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Kozhikode, has invited applications for admission to its Doctoral Programmes in Management for 2026–27.

Applications have been invited for admission to its three doctoral programmes - the Doctoral Programme in Management (DPM), the Doctoral Programme in Management (Teaching Track), and the Doctoral Programme in Management (Practice Track), offered across eight Academic Areas of Specialization which include (i) Decision Sciences and Operations Management (DSOM) (ii) Economics (ECON) (iii) Finance, Accounting & Control (FAC) (iv) Humanities and Liberal Arts in Management (HLAM) (v) Information Systems (IS) (vi) Marketing Management (MM) (vii) Organizational Behaviour and Human Resource Management (OBHR) (viii) Strategic Management (SM)

DPM is a full-time doctoral programme intended for doctoral students who seek to pursue academic careers in management research and teaching. Doctoral students complete all doctoral milestones and receive a tuition waiver and monthly fellowship during the programme. DPM (Teaching Track) is designed for doctoral students who prefer a blended mode of coursework delivery and require a compact academic structure. The programme combines online and in-campus coursework and focuses on building research foundations and Area-specific learning. DPM (Practice Track) is intended for experienced professionals who wish to integrate managerial or industry experience with structured doctoral research. Eligibility: Applicants should hold a Post-graduate degree or equivalent in any discipline (including M.A., M.Com., M.E., M.Phil., M.Sc., M.Tech., MBA, MCA, etc.) or Professional qualification (CA/CMA(ICWA) /CS/equivalent) with a Bachelor’s degree or 4-year / 8-semester Bachelor’s degree in any discipline. Mark requirements for each mode is given in the Notification. Applicants belonging to SC/ST/PwD/NC-OBC/EWS categories shall be eligible for a relaxation of 5% (or equivalent) in the prescribed minimum eligibility marks.

Applicants in the final year of their qualifying degree may apply only to the DPM. Applicants with CA/CMA(ICWA)/CS/equivalent must have fully completed the qualification at the time of application. Those who are provisionally selected under DPM have to complete the requirements specified in the Notification.

Qualifying Test Score Requirement: Applicants to the DPM (Teaching Track) and the DPM (Practice Track) do not require any valid qualifying test score. Applicants to the DPM must have a valid test score in any one of the approved tests corresponding to their chosen Area of Specialization, as specified in the notification. Accepted Tests include CAT, GATE, GMAT, GRE, IIMB Test, UGC-NET, UGC-JRF, UGC-JRF (in Management, Economics, or Commerce only), UGC-NET (preferably in but not restricted to English, Linguistics, Law, Political Science, Psychology, Public Administration, Social Work, Sociology, or Comparative Literature), Other Tests. The test score, should not be older than three years (except for those who opt for the IIMB Test) as on the application closing date.

The UGC-NET qualification shall include all three result categories; JRF & Assistant Professor; Assistant Professor only; PhD admission only. GRE (at Home) and GMAT (Online) scores shall not be accepted. For the IS Area, ‘Other Tests’ refers to any national-level or institution-specific test recognized for admission to a doctoral programme.

The IIMB Test is administered independently by IIM Bangalore, and applicants shall be required to register directly for the test through the IIM Bangalore website latest by 5 pm on January 23, 2026. Those holding a PGDM (full-time two-year programme) or MBA degree from any of the IIMs, or an Executive PGDM/MBA degree from IIM Kozhikode, with the specified CGPA/Grade are exempted from qualifying tests.

Programme-wise Work Experience Requirement is specified in the Notification. There is no work experience requirement for DPM.

Applications shall be submitted online at https://iimk.ac.in/ latest by 23 January 2026. One can apply to one or more of the three doctoral programmes in a single application, by selecting only one Area of Specialization, which shall apply uniformly to all programme choices.

Details of application fee payable is given in the Notification. Applicants applying to more than one programme shall pay the fee applicable to each programme.

Shortlisting and other processes will be undertaken during 6 February 2026 to 28 March 2026.
