Indian Institute of Science Bangalore-560012 has invited applications for admission to the Four-Year Bachelor of Science (Research) Programme for the Academic Year 2022-23.

The Programme is organized into eight semesters. The final semester is devoted exclusively to a research project.

The major disciplines available in the Bachelor of Science (Research) Programme include Biology, Chemistry, Earth & Environmental Science, Materials, Mathematics, Physics.

Eligibility: Applicant should satisfy the eligibility requirements of the qualifying examination as well as that in a National Level Entrance Examination.

Mandatory Educational Qualifications (Qualifying exam): Applicants should have completed their 10+2/equivalent examination in 2021 or should be expecting to complete their 10+2/equivalent examination in 2022 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as main subjects along with any other subjects. They must have secured a first-class or 60% or equivalent grade (relaxed to pass class for SC/ST candidates) in the qualifying examination (10+2 or equivalent).

National Entrance Exam Requirements: Applicant should have qualified in/should be in the merit list of one of the following national examinations (i) Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) (a) KVPY-2020, Stream-SA or (b) KVPY-2021, Stream-SX or (c) KVPY-2021, Stream-SB. Those selected through Empowerment Initiative (SC/ST categories) - KVPY-2020, Stream-SA or KVPY-2021, Stream-SX (ii) JEE Main -2022 (iii) JEE Advanced-2022 (iv) NEET(UG)-2022. Applicant must be qualified in any one of the exams mentioned above and the exam result must be valid as on 01 August 2022.

Selection: Selection will be based on the merit list of one of these national examinations.

Application: Applications can be submitted online at https://www.iisc.ac.in/ug latest by 23.59 hrs on 31st May 2022. Application fee is Rs. 500/- (Rs. 250/- for SC/ST/PWD categories). It can be paid On-line using Net-banking, Visa Card/ Master Card, Debit/Credit Cards/UPI.

10 % Supernumerary Quota seats over and above the approved intake for the program will be provided to women candidates.

All the students who join the Institute are eligible for a scholarship from the KVPY/INSPIRE/IISc Promotional Scheme (IIScP), depending upon their mode of entry. Scholarships from many Indian and multinational agencies and business houses are also available for meritorious students. The scholarship amount may vary for different scholarships agencies as per norms.
