Footwear Design & Development Institute, an Institution of National Importance under Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Govt. of India, has invited applications for admission to the various Under Graduate and Post Graduate Programmes offered by the Institute at its campuses at Noida, Fursatganj, Chennai, Kolkata, Rohtak, Jodhpur, Chhindwara, Guna, Ankleshwar, Patna, Hyderabad and Chandigarh.

For admission to Bachelor of Design (B.Des.) Programmes offered in (i) in Footwear Design & Production (FDP) (ii) Fashion Design (FD) and (iii) Leather Goods & Accessories Design (LGAD) and Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Retail & Fashion Merchandise (RFM), applicant should have passed 10+2, in any stream/equivalent or AICTE approved 3-year full time Diploma after Class X offered by Board of Technical Education of any state or Union territory.

The age limit for the Bachelor’s programme is 25 years as on the 1.7.2021.

For admission to Master of Design (M.Des.) in Footwear Design & Production (FDP) applicant should hold Bachelor’s Degree in Footwear/Leather Goods/Design/ Fashion/Fine arts/ Architecture/ Engineering/ Production / Technology.

For admission to Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Retail & Fashion Merchandise (RFM), applicant should have a Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline.

There is no age limit for admission to Master Degree programmes (M.Des./ MBA).

Applicants are expected to possess good communication skills in English and should have good command in written and spoken English language.

Selection will be based on an All India Selection Test (AIST) to be held on 4th July 2021 (Sunday). For B.Des. / BBA, there will be questions from Quantitative Aptitude, Verbal Ability, General Awareness, Business Aptitude Test & Design Aptitude Test and for M.Des./ MBA, questions will be form  Quantitative Aptitude, English Comprehension, General Knowledge & Current Affairs, Management Aptitude Test & Analytical Ability. Details are given in the Prospectus. For MBA Programme, those having valid MAT score may be given exemption from appearing in AIST 2021. However, they need to apply online for admission 2021. In case they appear for AIST examination 2021, the rank for such candidates shall be determined on the basis of candidate’s performance in AIST 2021.
