Council of Science & Technology, Uttar Pradesh (CSTUP) has invited applications for the Summer Research Fellowships for two months.

CSTUP offers the fellowship to encourage 1st & 2nd year M.Sc. students studying basic sciences only to work with renowned Professors/Scientists from premier institutes of India. Selected students are given a monthly stipend of Rs .25000/- for two months.

Research areas: Research Areas include Physics (Materials Science, Electronics, Astronomy etc.); Biology (Botany, Zoology, Environmental Science, etc.); Chemistry (Organic, Inorganic, Physical, Industrial, Medicinal etc.); Agriculture (Plant Pathology, Horticulture, Entomology etc.); Mathematics/Statistics. 

Fellowship will not be granted for the students pursuing M.Sc. in Nursing, Home Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, Anthropology, Geography, Food Technology, Biotechnology, Forensic Science, Psychology, Defence Studies, Food & Nutrition, Cyber Security, Nuclear Medicine Technology etc. 

The fellowship will be given only for those students who are studying in Uttar Pradesh. 

Eligibility: Applicants should be regular students studying in Post-Graduation (M.Sc., either 1st year or 2nd year) within the state of Uttar Pradesh. Applicants must hold BSc./B.S. degree at the graduation level. Applicants must have passed at least one examination out of 10th, 12th & Graduation from Uttar Pradesh. 

Selection: Selection will be on the basis of merit by considering (i) 25 % of 10th percentage obtained (ii) 35 % of 12th percentage obtained (iii) 40 % of Graduation percentage obtained.  50% students will be selected from U.P. Board and 50% from all other boards based on separate merit lists for these two categories.

If the applicant is selected and provides a consent letter/e-mail from Professor/Scientists of the related institution/organization, they shall be given preference in allotment of institution/organization for summer research training.
