WhatsApp has rolled out a new feature called Group Message History, designed to make group chats more welcoming and seamless for new members. The feature allows admins and group members to share recent messages with newcomers, helping them catch up quickly without disrupting ongoing conversations.

The update addresses one of the most requested features by users. Like all WhatsApp messages, Group Message History is end-to-end encrypted, ensuring that conversations remain private. Users no longer need to rely on screenshots or forwarding messages manually.

When adding a new member to a group, admins and members can choose to send recent messages ranging from 25 up to 100 messages, giving newcomers the most relevant context. Admins also have the ability to disable this feature if they wish, although they can always share message history themselves.

WhatsApp ensures transparency by notifying all group members when message history is shared. Messages are clearly timestamped, show sender information, and are visually distinct from regular messages.
