Google has officially launched its online store in India, directly offering its range of popular hardware products, including Pixel smartphones, smartwatches, and earbuds. This strategic move not only strengthens the tech giant’s presence in the Indian consumer electronics market but also marks its entry into the rapidly expanding direct-to-consumer (D2C) e-commerce space in the country.

For years, Google’s hardware sales in India relied largely on e-commerce partnerships. The new direct store, launched ahead of its expected physical retail outlets in India, now allows customers to purchase devices like the Pixel 9 series, Pixel Watch 3, and Pixel Buds Pro 2 directly from Google.

As part of its launch, Google has rolled out a suite of customer-friendly offerings, including:

Exchange Program: In partnership with Cashify, Google allows users to trade in their old devices, including non-Pixel phones from brands like Apple, Samsung, and OnePlus. Buyers will receive an instant value estimate and, during promotional periods, can benefit from additional exchange bonuses.

Flexible Payment Options: Pixel buyers can avail of no-cost EMI for up to 24 months on phones and up to 12 months on accessories. HDFC Bank credit card holders can also enjoy instant cashback on EMI purchases.

UPI Support: The Google Store fully supports UPI, enabling fast and secure payments, in line with India's digital payment ecosystem.

The online expansion aligns Google with other global tech firms like Apple, which launched its Indian online store in 2020. While Apple already operates two physical stores in Mumbai and Delhi, Google’s retail footprint in India is still in the pipeline.
