Vivo has officially introduced OriginOS 6, built on Android 16, in China. The update brings a refreshed design, AI-powered enhancements, upgraded performance, and stronger privacy protections, signalling a major step forward for the company’s software ecosystem.

Design and interface

OriginOS 6 debuts a new “Light and Shadow Space” aesthetic that simulates natural lighting and depth to deliver a more intuitive user interface. Notifications now feature stacked layouts for clarity, while Gradual Blur effects create smoother transitions between layers. The system also adds Mirror Screen Effects and AI Lighting responses to Vivo’s virtual assistant, Xiao V.

The lock screen adopts a modular “Huarong Grid” layout for flexible customisation, allowing users to reposition clocks and photos. Animations benefit from Elastic Motion, Frame Morphing, and Seamless Transitions, giving the interface a more fluid, realistic feel.

Performance and efficiency

The new Blue River Performance Engine underpins OriginOS 6, boosting frame stability by 11 per cent and rendering efficiency by 35 per cent through Dual-Path Rendering Architecture. The Super Core Architecture accelerates app launch speeds by up to 14 per cent, while Photonic Architecture improves memory and storage responsiveness, increasing heavy-load data speeds by 230 per cent.

Even under demanding multitasking conditions, the system maintains consistent fluidity and performance.

AI-driven tools

Vivo has deepened its AI integration with Scene Intelligence 2.0, which extends battery life by up to 18 per cent during gaming or video use. Other features include AI Photo Cleanup for removing unwanted objects, Xiao V Circle Search 2.0 for identifying on-screen items, and Little V Memory 2.0 for context-aware screen capture and note organisation.

Additional upgrades include predictive typing and conversational AI in the Vivo Input Method, while the Instant Ticketing Engine speeds up bookings for concerts, travel, and events.

Cross-device connectivity

The Vivo Office Suite allows seamless file transfers across phones, PCs, and browsers. Cross-Ecosystem Group Sharing enables instant photo sharing without data consumption, while Small Window 2.0 integrates mobile apps into car dashboards.

Power management features such as Global Direct Power Supply 2.0 and Micro Power Genie 2.0 enhance battery longevity, while System Lightweight 3.0 extends standby time by up to 7 per cent.

Health, wellbeing, and accessibility

The Eye Comfort Mode now includes AI fatigue detection and adaptive scheduling. AI Sleep Mode reduces blue light exposure by 25 per cent, while Dynamic Vision Assistance minimises motion blur for users on the move. Enhanced accessibility options include Clear Voice Enhancement and Bluetooth hearing aid support.

Security and certifications

OriginOS 6 introduces the CHAD full-stack AI security framework, offering protection across chip, device, cloud, and model levels. The Vivo X100 series is the first to be certified under China’s CAICT AI Security Advanced Capability standards. The system has also received certifications from DNV, Common Criteria, UL, and ioXt for international compliance.

Availability

OriginOS 6 will debut with the Vivo X300 series and iQOO 15, before rolling out in phases from November 2025 through May 2026 across multiple Vivo and iQOO devices, including the X Fold, X200, X100, and S series.
