Xiaomi has strengthened its mid-range lineup in India with the launch of the Redmi Note 15 5G, unveiled alongside the Redmi Pad 2 Pro tablet. Both devices are powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon platforms and are aimed at users seeking premium features at competitive prices.

Redmi Note 15 5G: Performance and software

At the core of the Redmi Note 15 5G is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chipset. According to Xiaomi, the processor offers improved efficiency, delivering a 30% rise in CPU performance and a 10% gain in graphics output over the previous generation. The handset runs on Xiaomi HyperOS 3 and introduces HyperIsland, a new interface feature that enables floating windows, dynamic widgets, and glanceable information on the screen.

Redmi Note 15 5G: Display, build and durability

The smartphone features a 6.77-inch curved AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and peak brightness reaching 3,200 nits. It supports Hydro Touch 2.0, allowing the display to register inputs even when fingers are wet. The panel also carries TUV Triple Eye Care certification and comes with a factory-applied screen protector.

With an IP66 rating for dust and water resistance, the device measures 7.35mm in thickness and weighs 178 grams, making it the slimmest Redmi Note phone so far. Colour options include Black, Mist Purple, and Glacier Blue.

Redmi Note 15 5G: Cameras and AI tools

For photography, the Redmi Note 15 5G is equipped with a 108MP main camera featuring optical image stabilisation, accompanied by an 8MP secondary sensor. Xiaomi uses Samsung’s HN9 sensor along with MasterPixel technology to enhance colour reproduction, HDR results, and low-light images. The phone supports 4K video recording and offers multifocal portrait modes.

The camera experience is complemented by AI-based tools such as AI Erase and AI Remove Reflection, designed to refine images and simplify editing.

Redmi Note 15 5G: Battery and charging

Powering the device is a 5,520mAh battery that supports 45W fast charging, with the charger bundled in the box. Xiaomi claims the phone can last up to 1.6 days on a single charge and maintain battery health for as long as five years.

The Redmi Note 15 5G is priced at ₹22,999 for the 8GB + 128GB variant, while the 8GB + 256GB version costs ₹24,999. Sales begin on January 9 through Xiaomi’s official website, Flipkart, Amazon, and authorised retail outlets across India.

Redmi Pad 2 Pro: Key specifications

Alongside the smartphone, Xiaomi also introduced the Redmi Pad 2 Pro. The tablet is powered by the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chipset and is available in Wi-Fi and 5G variants. Pricing starts at ₹24,999 for the 8GB RAM and 128GB storage Wi-Fi model. The same configuration with 5G is priced at ₹27,999, while the 8GB RAM and 256GB storage Wi-Fi + 5G variant is listed at ₹29,999.
