Key features of ColorOS 16
Smoother motion with a nature-inspired design
ColorOS 16 introduces Oppo’s new Luminous Rendering and Trinity Engine for smoother animations and transitions between apps and widgets. The interface draws inspiration from light and shadow for a modern, fluid appearance. Users can set Motion Photos or videos as live wallpapers and experiment with a wider range of fonts and AI-generated colour schemes for cohesive visual styling.
Always-On Display (AOD) gets smarter and more personal
The Always-On Display now supports full-screen mode, letting users showcase clocks, calendars, or personal images even when idle. It also offers enhanced customisation options, allowing users to personalise what appears on the screen for a more functional and aesthetic experience.
Customisable layouts for effortless navigation
Users can resize folders or app icons into different formats for better accessibility and organisation. The adaptive home screen layout automatically adjusts to ensure easy navigation and improved productivity, offering near desktop-level personalisation on smartphones.
Smarter photo and video editing with AI
The Photos app gains a Portrait Glow feature that enhances low-light portraits by adding soft lighting effects. Meanwhile, the built-in video editor now supports trimming, speed adjustments, and adding text, audio, or filters — removing the need for third-party editing apps.
Cross-device ecosystem with O+ Connect expansion
Oppo’s O+ Connect ecosystem extends support to Mac and Windows PCs, enabling seamless file transfers, remote computer control, and the ability to cast up to five apps simultaneously. This expanded cross-device functionality strengthens Oppo’s multi-platform ecosystem, putting it in direct competition with Apple’s Continuity and Samsung’s DeX.
