Google is set to launch the Pixel 10 series in August 2025, and among the most anticipated models is the Pixel 10 Pro Fold, a successor to last year’s Pixel 9 Pro Fold. While the overall design language is expected to stay similar, key internal upgrades could make the new foldable worth the investment. Based on the latest leaks and rumours, here are the three biggest changes expected in this year’s foldable flagship:

1. Design and durability improvements

Although the Pixel 10 Pro Fold is not expected to undergo a drastic design overhaul, it will reportedly feature a slimmer, more robust hinge, which should reduce the device’s thickness and improve in-hand comfort. The most notable upgrade is the shift from an IPX8 to IP68 rating, offering full water and dust resistance—marking a significant step forward in daily durability and reliability.

2. Performance leap with Tensor G5

One of the biggest performance-related upgrades lies in the new Tensor G5 chip, which is expected to be manufactured by TSMC on a 3nm process, compared to the Tensor G4’s 4nm Samsung fabrication in the Pixel 9 Pro Fold. This means users can expect faster performance, better battery efficiency, and improved thermal management. The phone is also tipped to ship with Android 16 out of the box, offering the latest features and enhancements.

3. Camera upgrade: 50MP main sensor

The Pixel 10 Pro Fold is likely to retain the triple camera layout of its predecessor but with an improved 50MP main camera using the Samsung GN8 sensor, replacing the 48MP unit in the Pixel 9 Pro Fold. The ultrawide and telephoto lenses are expected to remain unchanged, with a 10.5MP and 10.8MP sensor respectively.
