Forza Horizon fans may not have to wait much longer for news about the next instalment in Xbox’s popular racing series. A new report indicates that Microsoft and Playground Games could be ready to showcase Forza Horizon 6 during the Tokyo Game Show 2025, scheduled to take place from September 25 to 28.

Industry report fuels reveal speculation

According to Windows Central, internal Microsoft documents “strongly suggest” that the upcoming title will make its debut at the event. While no official word has come from either Microsoft or Playground Games, Xbox head Phil Spencer had previously hinted that the reveal might take place around this period, making TGS 2025 a likely candidate.

Japan rumoured as the new location

Speculation about the game’s setting has intensified following a recent leak pointing towards Japan. An Australian car importer claimed last week that a Playground Games developer had been scanning Kei cars — small, lightweight vehicles unique to Japan. Although the post was swiftly removed, it fuelled growing belief that Japan could serve as the next backdrop for the series.

If accurate, unveiling Forza Horizon 6 at Tokyo Game Show would be a fitting move, especially after Forza Horizon 5 transported players to a vibrant open-world Mexico.
