ChatGPT users faced disruptions on Monday, but the biggest problem was not accessing the platform. For most affected users, ChatGPT was simply unable to do what they came for, generate content.

The outage was reported at around 2.21 on Monday, with Downdetector registering around 261 user reports of problems.

A breakdown of the complaints showed that content generation was the biggest concern. Around 85% of users who reported issues said they were facing problems generating content through ChatGPT.

Only a smaller share of complaints was related to accessing the platform itself. Around 7% of users reported issues with the ChatGPT app, while 4% said they were experiencing problems through the browser.
