The championship is now a thrilling three-way battle heading into the final races in Qatar and Abu Dhabi.

Las Vegas: The 2025 Las Vegas Grand Prix has been dramatically rewritten after the disqualification of Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri promoted Mercedes rookie Kimi Antonelli to a shock third place in the revised race classification. Max Verstappen retains victory under the Strip lights, with George Russell elevated to second, sealing a Mercedes double podium as Antonelli inherits the final step on the rostrum following the McLaren plank-wear breach. Charles Leclerc moves up to fourth and Carlos Sainz to fifth as the reshuffled order hands crucial points to Ferrari and Williams in a chaotic Sin City fallout.

The McLaren disqualification has blown the F1 2025 title race wide open, even though Norris remains on top of the drivers’ standings. The Briton now leads the championship on 390 points, but his advantage has been slashed to just 24 over both Piastri and Verstappen, who sit locked together on 366 points after the Red Bull star’s Vegas win. What had looked like a controlled march to a maiden crown for Norris has turned into a three-way shootout heading into the Qatar Grand Prix and Abu Dhabi season finale.
With two Grands Prix and a sprint race still to come, a maximum of 58 points remain on the table in the F1 2025 championship. Qatar’s sprint weekend offers Verstappen and Piastri a golden chance to claw back the deficit before the title decider at Yas Marina, where every point will be under the microscope. Norris can still clinch the world championship in Lusail if he outscores both rivals across the sprint and Grand Prix, but the McLaren camp now heads to the Middle East under intense pressure after the costly Las Vegas technical infringement.
