In 2022, Swiss tennis maestro Roger Federer bid farewell to the sport that made him a global icon. Over a spectacular 21-year career, he claimed 20 Grand Slam titles, cementing his place as one of the most beloved athletes in the world. While many expected Federer to step into coaching or launch his own tennis academy post-retirement, he chose a different path—dedicating his time to his family.
Federer and his wife Mirka have long been regarded as the ideal couple by fans. Their love story began in 2000 at the Sydney Olympics, where Mirka, then a rising Swiss tennis star, first crossed paths with Federer. The two even played doubles together before their on-court friendship blossomed into romance.

However, Mirka’s career was cut short by injury, just as Federer was rising to superstardom. As he shattered records and dominated the sport, Mirka stood steadfastly by his side. She transitioned from player to his manager, dedicating herself entirely to his journey.
In 2009, the couple tied the knot, and at the time, Mirka was already expecting their first children—identical twin daughters – Myla and Charlene. Five years later, their family grew again, this time with identical twin boys – Leo and Lenny.
Despite the relentless demands of the tennis circuit, Federer always prioritised family time. Family vacations became a cherished tradition, and he often spoke about how much he valued the moments spent with Mirka and children. He never missed an opportunity to express his gratitude for his wife’s unwavering support.

"During tournaments, Mirka has spent countless hours waiting for me. When we are together, I want to make her happy in every way possible. If she wants to go shopping for ten hours, I’ll do it—because she has waited for me for ten hours at events. Love is about giving back," Federer once said.
In September 2022, as Federer played his final match at the Laver Cup in London, his children were there to witness the historic moment. The world watched as he broke down in tears, clinging to Mirka, the woman who had been his pillar of strength through it all.
"Without Mirka by my side, none of this would have been possible," Federer said, acknowledging that his greatest triumph was not just in tennis, but in the family he built with her.
