V D Satheesan's niece Anjali Menon shares an emotional note on the new CM’s resilience against political betrayal and his humble roots.

Thiruvananthapuram: Following the appointment of V D Satheesan as the Chief Minister-designate of Kerala, his niece Anjali Menon has shared a moving tribute on social media. In an Instagram post accompanied by family photographs, Anjali offers an intimate look at the man she affectionately calls "Sathu Kochachan" (uncle).
Anjali described the past week as an emotional rollercoaster, stating that her joy stems not from the power of the office, but from seeing her uncle’s relentless hard work finally recognised. "My hands are trembling as I write this," she shared, noting that seeing the outpouring of love from the people of Keralam brought her to tears.
A legacy of humility
Reflecting on their family values, Anjali highlighted the grounded upbringing the "Vadassery" family provided. She noted that Satheesan always attributed their success to the blessings and firm foundation laid by their grandfathers.
"You always taught us to remain humble," she wrote. "You don't just speak about love; you live it. Even as your life becomes busier, I know you will still find time for us to sit together, share old stories and laugh."
Resilience amidst betrayal
The post also touched upon the political challenges Satheesan faced behind the scenes. Anjali recalled moments of crisis where others attempted to undermine his position.
"We have walked through many hardships. We saw moments where many tried to pull you down and witnessed betrayals. But each time, you returned with even greater strength. Today, Keralam knows you as their leader, but we know the man who remembers every little thing about us and keeps us safe."
Anjali concluded by stating that the state is gaining a leader with the "kindest heart”, a sentiment echoed by the viral nature of her post among UDF supporters.
