Reports suggest that even her Team India colleagues, including Jemimah Rodrigues, have removed posts related to Smriti’s marriage.

In a major relief for Indian women’s cricket star Smriti Mandhana and her family, her father, Srinivas Mandhana, has been discharged from hospital following a heart attack. The 54-year-old was admitted on Sunday after experiencing severe chest pain, prompting a medical emergency that forced Smriti and her fiancé, singer Palash Muchhal, to postpone their wedding ceremony, originally scheduled for the same day. While Srinivas is now stable and out of danger, the family has yet to announce a new date for the nuptials.
As per reports, Srinivas is in good health, and his heart condition no longer poses a threat. Doctors performed an angiography, which revealed no blockages, further reassuring the family. “He is completely stable now,” confirmed hospital management, providing a much-needed boost to the Mandhana family after a tense few days.
The sudden hospitalisation of Srinivas had prompted multiple updates from family members, confirming that the wedding had been postponed indefinitely. While details regarding rescheduling or other festivities remain under wraps, the couple’s decision to prioritise health over celebrations has been widely respected.
Smriti’s manager, Tuhin Mishra, had shared earlier: “This morning, while having breakfast, Smriti’s father’s health deteriorated. Initially, we waited, hoping he would recover, but when the condition worsened, we called an ambulance and rushed him to hospital. Smriti is extremely close to her father and has decided that the marriage will be postponed indefinitely until he recovers. The doctors have advised that he stay under observation until fully well. Smriti is clear: her father’s health comes first, and she wants to see him fully recovered before proceeding with her wedding.”

The postponement has led to some curiosity among fans, particularly as Smriti has deleted all images and videos from her pre-wedding celebrations from her Instagram account. Reports suggest that even her Team India colleagues, including Jemimah Rodrigues, have removed related posts. The lack of clarity on a revised wedding date has sparked rumours on social media, adding to the suspense surrounding the celebrations.
Compounding the family’s concerns, reports have emerged that Palash Muchhal was also admitted to a hospital in Mumbai earlier this week. As per an NDTV report, continuous travel for concerts and wedding arrangements had left the singer extremely stressed, which eventually affected his health. While details of his recovery remain limited, it appears both families are navigating a challenging period.
Despite the delays and health scares, there has been considerable support from fans, colleagues, and the cricketing community, who have wished both families well. Smriti’s priority remains her father’s full recovery, a decision widely praised for its emphasis on family over festivities.
For now, Srinivas Mandhana’s discharge marks a positive turn in what has been an anxious week for the Mandhana family. However, with no new wedding date announced, fans remain eagerly awaiting updates on when the long-anticipated celebrations between Smriti Mandhana and Palash Muchhal will finally take place.
The couple’s choice to defer their ceremony amid health concerns highlights a careful approach to personal well-being in the midst of high-profile life events, giving way to multiple discussions. (With inputs from Agencies)
