John Joseph played for the Hyderabad Black Hawks. Arjun Nath, N Jithin (Calicut Heroes), Anu James (Kolkata Thunderbolts), Jibin Sebastian (Ahmedabad Defenders), Abdul Rahim (Kochi Blue Spikers), Jobin Varghese (Chennai Blitz), and KS Anand (Hyderabad Black Hawks) are the other SAI players.

John Joseph, who continues to train at SAI, was selected as the best blocker, topping among the experienced Indian players. John's performance was crucial in helping Hyderabad reach the semi-finals.

John was not aware of the game when he joined SAI in 2016. The selection was based solely on his height. However, in a short period, John was able to become a better player,  Lijo V. John, SAI coach, said.

Anand, who played as a libero for the Hyderabad team, is another player who has caught attention. Anu James also shined as an attacker for the defending champions Kolkata.
