Kunnamkulam: The young sporting talents in the state will strive for glory at the Kerala State School Sports Meet set to begin on Monday (Oct 16). The registrations for the meet shall begin at 10 AM in the morning. The competitions will start on Tuesday. The meet will be held at the synthetic stadium in Kunnamkulam government vocational higher secondary school. The state school sports meet is being held in Kunnamkulam town for the first time. The annual sports meet is returning to the district of Thrissur after a long gap of 15 years. The meet will conclude on October 20.

The torch relay of the meet will begin from Thrissur and reach Kunnamkulam by 5 PM. Higher Education Minister R Bindu will hand over the torch to footballer IM Vijayan, marking the inauguration of the sports meet. The competitions will begin at 7 AM on Tuesday (Oct 17). 2,679 students will compete across 98 events in the meet. The competitions will be held over day and night (From 6:30 AM - 8: 30 PM).
