New York: Global music stars Justin Bieber and BTS will headline the first-ever FIFA World Cup final halftime show alongside Madonna and Shakira, FIFA announced on Wednesday, adding more star power to the Super Bowl-style spectacle set for the tournament finale on July 19.

The 11-minute performance, curated by Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, will take place during the FIFA World Cup final outside New York and will support the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, which aims to raise USD 100 million to improve access to education and football for children around the world.

Joining the star-studded lineup are Afrobeats sensation Burna Boy, renowned Venezuelan conductor Gustavo Dudamel and New York's PS22 Chorus, an elementary school choir that will perform alongside Coldplay. The show will also feature appearances by beloved "Sesame Street" characters, including Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy.

“The FIFA World Cup brings the world together in a way nothing else can,” Bieber said in a statement. “I’m grateful to be part of this Halftime Show, and even more grateful knowing it’s already helping expand access to education for children around the world.”

Burna Boy's inclusion carries added significance as he features alongside Shakira on "Dai Dai," one of the official songs of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The multilingual track blends Afrobeats and Latin rhythms while celebrating football's global appeal.

“The FIFA World Cup is one of the few moments that truly brings the entire world together,” Burna Boy said in a statement. “To represent Africa on the first-ever FIFA World Cup Final Halftime Show is a privilege and a responsibility that I don’t take lightly.”

Unlike the NFL's Super Bowl, football has traditionally featured pre-match entertainment rather than halftime performances. This year's FIFA World Cup final will mark the tournament's first Super Bowl-style halftime show, bringing together some of the biggest names in global music for the historic occasion.
