Harry Kane has suggested that his desire to return to the Premier League has cooled, indicating that he is open to extending his stay at Bayern Munich. Last month, Tottenham manager Thomas Frank had left the door open for a possible return to north London, while Sky Sports News reported earlier this year that Kane’s Bayern contract includes a release clause allowing him to leave for £67m in January 2025, which drops to £54m in January 2026. Spurs reportedly have a “first option” to match any qualifying bid, but the decision ultimately rests with Kane.

Speaking during England duty, as reported by Sky Sports Kane reflected on his career priorities. While he once expected to return to the Premier League, his focus has shifted since joining Bayern. “Now I have been there a couple of years, I would probably say that has gone down a little bit, but I wouldn’t say I would never go back,” he said, adding that he is “fully all in with Bayern.”

Kane has been in excellent form this season, scoring 19 goals for club and country and reaching 100 goals for Bayern in record time. He has two years remaining on his contract but has expressed a willingness to discuss an extension if it aligns with the club’s vision and goals. “If it happens, it happens. I don’t think there is any need to rush anything,” Kane said, as reported by Sky Sports, emphasising the importance of long-term planning for both himself and Bayern.

The England captain has ruled out a move to Major League Soccer at this stage, describing the MLS as a later-career option. He stressed that his priority is to maximise performance at Bayern and continue competing for major trophies.

Kane also reflected on the impact of winning his first major trophy—the Bundesliga title last season—which he said motivated him to push harder and improve further. So far this season, he has outscored the likes of Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe, demonstrating his ongoing commitment to peak performance. Kane revealed that he is attentive to small details in training, diet, and recovery, all aimed at sustaining his form and prolonging his career at the highest level.

With Bayern keen to extend his stay, and Kane focused on continued success, the 32-year-old appears set to remain a key figure in Bavaria for at least the near future. (With inputs from Agencies)
