Yograj Singh, father of former India cricketer Yuvraj Singh, has publicly criticised MS Dhoni once more, accusing him of ruining Yuvraj’s career. Speaking to the Zee Switch YouTube channel, Yograj stated, "I won't forgive MS Dhoni. He should look at his face in the mirror. What he has done against my son can never be forgiven in life. I have never forgiven anyone who has wronged me, nor have I ever hugged them."

This latest outburst follows earlier claims by Yograj that Dhoni's actions contributed to CSK's loss in IPL 2024 and accused him of jealousy towards Yuvraj. "CSK lost IPL 2024 due to Dhoni’s bad deeds. Yuvraj Singh, the ICC Ambassador, deserved respect, but Dhoni didn’t even shake his hand," Yograj had asserted in a viral video.

Dhoni, who retired from international cricket in August 2020, continues to play in the IPL. However, there is uncertainty regarding his future with CSK for the next season.

CSK CEO responds to reports of retaining Dhoni as uncapped player

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) CEO Kasi Viswanathan refuted claims that the franchise requested the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to reinstate a defunct rule to retain MS Dhoni at a reduced cost.

The rule in question, which allowed international players to be considered 'uncapped' after five years of retirement, was removed following IPL 2021. Speaking to the Times of India, Viswanathan stated, "I've no idea about it. We've not requested for it. They (the BCCI) have themselves told us that the 'uncapped player rule' may be kept, that's all. They (the BCCI) haven't announced anything as yet. The rules and regulations will be announced by the BCCI."

According to some reports, CSK was reportedly interested in the revival of this rule to retain Dhoni for Rs 4 crore, instead of the Rs 12 crore retention fee in 2022.

Viswanathan emphasised that while the BCCI has hinted at the possibility of reintroducing the rule, nothing official has been confirmed. With the IPL mega auction looming, Dhoni's participation in IPL 2025 remains in question.

The 43-year-old, who retired from international cricket in 2020, has yet to announce whether he will play in the upcoming season. CSK now faces a challenging decision regarding the future of their iconic captain, who has led them to five IPL titles. (With inputs from Agencies)
