Smriti Mandhana’s brother shuts down rumours of a December 7 wedding as Palash Muchhal’s visit to Premanand Maharaj adds a new twist to the already dramatic postponement.

New Delhi: With rumours of a December 7 wedding swirling across social media, Smriti Mandhana’s brother Shravan Mandhana has stepped in to firmly shut down the speculation — even as composer Palash Muchhal’s recent visit to spiritual leader Premanand Maharaj has added a fresh twist to the narrative.
On Tuesday, multiple unverified posts claimed that the couple — whose November 23 ceremony in Sangli was abruptly halted due to back-to-back medical emergencies in both families — had quietly locked in a new date. But Shravan’s response was unequivocal.
Speaking to Hindustan Times, he clarified:
“I have no idea about these rumours. As of now, the wedding is still postponed.” The Mandhana–Muchhal wedding was called off last month after Smriti’s father, Srinivas Mandhana, was rushed to the hospital.
Hours later, Palash himself was admitted with stress-related health complications. While both have since recovered, the families have not announced a revised timeline.
Palash’s sudden visit to Premanand Maharaj’s ashram
Amid the uncertainty, Palash’s recent darshan at Shrimad Jagadguru Ramanujacharya Premanand Maharaj’s ashram has sparked renewed chatter among fans.

Videos and images of the composer seeking blessings went viral, with many interpreting the visit as a gesture of hope, healing, or preparation — though neither family has commented on its significance.
The online rumour mill had already been fuelled by Smriti deleting wedding-related posts from Instagram, while leaving casual pictures with Palash untouched.
Both also added an evil-eye emoji to their bios, leading to speculation about negative attention and alleged “cheating” gossip circulating online.
Earlier, Palash’s mother, Amita Muchhal, had shared that the families were still emotionally recovering from the halted ceremony but expressed confidence that “shaadi bohot jaldi hogi.”
Smriti’s teammates, too, have rallied around her. Actor Suniel Shetty recently praised Jemimah Rodrigues for skipping the WBBL to stay by Smriti’s side, calling it “the purest form of friendship.”
For now, Shravan’s clarification stands as the only official status update: there is no December 7 wedding — and no fresh date has been finalised.
