The Gujarat Titans head to Qualifier 2 to face the winner of SRH vs. RR for a spot in Sunday’s final against RCB.

Dharamsala: Royal Challengers Bengaluru secured a position in the Indian Premier League history books on Tuesday, becoming only the fourth franchise in tournament history to advance to consecutive championship finals.
The defending champions accomplished the feat by delivering a commanding 92-run victory over the Gujarat Titans in Qualifier 1 at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium.
With the victory, Bengaluru joins an elite tier of franchises that have secured back-to-back final appearances, a distinction shared only by the Chennai Super Kings, Mumbai Indians, and the Gujarat Titans. Chennai holds the record for the longest consecutive streak, appearing in four straight finals from 2010 through 2013 and capturing two titles. The Mumbai Indians achieved their consecutive appearances during the 2019 and 2020 seasons, winning both championships, while Gujarat entered the summit clashes in 2022 and 2023, securing the title in their inaugural campaign.

The total established a milestone as the highest team score ever recorded in an IPL playoff fixture.
Star batsman Virat Kohli contributed a vital 43 runs at the top of the order, establishing the foundation for the record-breaking total.
In response, the Bengaluru bowling unit dismantled the Gujarat batting lineup, dismissing the Titans for 162 runs in 19.3 overs to seal the comprehensive victory.
Despite the heavy defeat, the Gujarat Titans remain in contention for the championship. The franchise will travel to Chandigarh for Friday's Qualifier 2, where they will face the victor of the eliminator match contesting Sunrisers Hyderabad against the Rajasthan Royals.
The winner of Friday's fixture will advance to face Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the championship final, scheduled for Sunday in Ahmedabad.
