Currently sitting mid-table with two wins from five games, SRH looks to stabilise their campaign while awaiting their skipper’s recovery.

Sydney: Sunrisers Hyderabad captain Pat Cummins has confirmed he will be unavailable for the team's upcoming high-profile fixture against the Chennai Super Kings on April 18, as well as the following match against the Delhi Capitals on April 21.
The Australian veteran shared the update on Wednesday via social media, indicating a targeted return for the April 25 encounter with the Rajasthan Royals. Responding to inquiries on Instagram, Cummins noted his travel plans and his goal for the late-April fixture. "Fly back Friday. Aiming for 25th vs RR," he told supporters.
Injury Management and Rehabilitation
Cummins, who serves as the franchise's primary leader, is currently addressing a back injury. According to a report by ESPNcricinfo, the fast bowler departed the team camp to return to Australia for a final medical assessment of the ailment.
The pacer's activity has been severely limited since last July, with his only competitive appearance occurring during a single Ashes Test in Adelaide. Cummins previously stated that he has begun net sessions and is incrementally increasing his bowling intensity as part of a methodical recovery program.
Interim Leadership and Season Progress
During the captain's absence, the Sunrisers have appointed Indian wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan to lead the squad for the 2026 campaign.
The Hyderabad franchise currently holds a mixed record, having secured two victories and suffered three defeats in its first five outings. With four points and a Net Run Rate of +0.576, the team remains in the thick of the mid-table battle as it awaits the return of its premier overseas star.
