Rishabh Pant, who scored a terrific hundred against Bangladesh, is once again making headlines in the cricketing world. This century marked Pant's return to red ball cricket after a considerable gap following a serious car accident in December 2022. Pant had scored his last test hundred 797 days ago.

However, the key topic of discussion surrounding Pant now focuses on whether he will continue with the Delhi Capitals in the upcoming season. Speculation about his departure from the franchise has been rampant since the conclusion of the last IPL season. Yet, reports from Cricbuzz suggest that the Capitals may retain Pant ahead of the IPL mega auction.

Before the Test against Bangladesh, Pant reportedly met with Parth Jindal, the co-owner of the Delhi Capitals, in Mumbai. In the previous auction in 2022, Delhi retained Pant for a staggering Rs 16 crore. It is anticipated that his salary may exceed this amount in the upcoming auction.

Decisions regarding player salaries will be based on the budget a franchise can allocate for players and the BCCI's guidelines on retention. This year marked Pant’s return to competitive cricket, and he performed admirably, having captained the Delhi team prior to his injury.
