New Delhi: India women’s cricket captain Harmanpreet Kaur has celebrated her World Cup 2025 victory in a deeply personal way, by getting the World Cup trophy tattooed on her arm, along with the numbers ‘2025’ and ‘52’, marking the year of India’s win and the margin of victory.

Sharing a photo of her new tattoo on Instagram, the Indian skipper wrote, “Forever etched in my skin and my heart. Waited for you since Day1 and now I will see you every morning and be grateful.”

The post instantly went viral, earning thousands of likes and heartfelt comments from fans.

With this gesture, Harmanpreet Kaur,who led India to its first-ever ICC Women’s ODI World Cup title, has turned her triumph into a lifelong reminder. The victory ended a 25-year wait for the Women in Blue, making Kaur the first female Indian captain to lift a World Cup trophy.

In a video shared by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Kaur reflected on her journey from a small-town dreamer to a world champion.

She said, “I was dreaming, when will I wear this blue jersey? So I think this means a lot to me, a young girl who didn’t know about women’s cricket, but still dreams that one day, I want to bring that change in our country.”

"And I think, it all shows that you should never stop dreaming. You never know where your destiny will take you. You never think, when will it happen, how will it happen. You only think, this will happen. So, I think, that was my self-belief, that this can be possible. And that exactly happened,” she added.

The Women in Blue is set to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday.
