Thiruvananthapuram: In the aftermath of the Lok Sabha elections, CPI leader C Divakaran has voiced strong criticism against the State government, citing widespread discontent among the people of Kerala. Following the setback faced by the Left Front, Divakaran emphasised the growing influence of the BJP in the state, cautioning against underestimating its political significance.

Highlighting various grievances, Divakaran pointed to delayed pension payments, financial crises, and unresolved issues concerning government employees. He stressed that these problems have eroded the public's confidence in the government, leading to widespread disappointment. He called upon the LDF to thoroughly analyse the reasons behind its massive electoral defeat.

Divakaran urged against disinterest after the election, emphasising the need for a detailed examination of the considerable decline in LDF votes in Thiruvananthapuram. He suggested investigating potential vote leakage and cross-voting to understand the unexpected outcome. Divakaran also acknowledged the UDF’s advantage with the expected anti-BJP sentiment.

Divakaran also highlighted the BJP's victory in Thrissur as a crucial development, citing actor Suresh Gopi's personal appeal also as a contributing factor.
