Pathanamthitta: Rebutting all the allegations of accepting money from broker Nandakumar, Anil Antony, the NDA candidate from Pathanamthitta, said Congress senior leader P J Kurian has conspired the plot to destroy him and his father and veteran Congres leader A K Antony.

Anil also said that the Congress politics for the past 40 to 50 years has been that of deception and betrayal. Kurian is one among the few who back stabbed leaders like K Karunakaran, A K Antony and Oommen Chandy, he added. 

The  young face of the BJP also alleged it was Kurian who sent broker Nandakumar, an accused in several cases, to him.

“First they tried to tear me down by bringing Oommen Chandy’s family to campaign against me. Then P J Kurian himself came, stayed here and tried to campaign against me. That also didn’t work. Then they arranged a press conference of my father. That too had no much effect. After that they brought a criminal, who was jailed in a CBI case, to launch a baseless attack on me…,” he said.  

“I have known Congress politics since my childhood… There are some prominent incidents of deception. Leader K Karunakaran Sir was forced to resign as chief minister over a baseless case, A K Antony was also made to resign from the post of chief minister in 2004, then during 2013-14 when chief minister Oommen Chandy was about to get a second term, the chances were destroyed by the party itself. In all these incidents, two or three people have a role. One among them is P J Kurian,” Anil alleged.

“Let Kurian Sir deny that he was the reference for my meeting with Nandakumar. I had cut contacts with Nandakumar as he always came with one or other impossible demands like the one to transfer an officer or to post a judge somewhere…Kurian Sir was involved in a case as you all know. Later I came to know it was Nandakumar who settled it outside the court. I never mentioned this because of my dignity. I am not going to elaborate now. Will tell it later with evidences…”he added.
