Kottayam: The post poll analysis of the election gives so much confidence for the CPI, as they believe, the party would come out with excellent results.  According to a review conducted within the party based on the feedback from the grass-root level, CPI calculates a win in three out of the four seats it vied for the Lok Sabha. The three seats are Thrissur, Mavelikkara and Thiruvananthapuram. The reports in this regard from each district leadership will be looked into at the CPI State executive meet on May 2. A detailed election analysis will also be conducted.

The party evaluates that CPI candidate V S Sunil Kumar could make waves in Thrissur constituency. The fact that Sunil Kumar is basically from the constituency which is a Left stronghold and his performances as a minister and MLA added to his winning prospects. Even if the history of the constituency is considered, K Karunakaran and K Muraleedharan had to bite dust because of the CPI.

In Thiruvananthapuram, the BJP and the Congress could not win the heart of the voters, the party observed. Common people found an accessible leader in Pannian Raveendran, while the Congress failed to shine on the last lap. The NDA also failed to impress the voters even with its extravaganza, the CPI evaluated.

The candidature of party’s young face C A Arun Kumar was welcomed by the Mavelikkara voters to a great extent, the party analysed. It was also evaluated that Arun Kumar could tap the anti-incumbency sentiments against the sitting MP, Kodikkunnil Suresh, in the constituency.

In Wayanad, Annie Raja’s presence will reduce the majority of Congress candidate Rahul Gandhi. The party also assessed that he could not repeat his former performance as the Left successfully stalled his progress with sever political criticisms.
