Shreveport: Eight children were killed in a domestic-related shooting that took place across multiple homes in Shreveport, Louisiana, early Sunday, police said.

A total of 10 people were shot in the attack, with victims ranging in age from one to about 14 years old, according to Police Chief Wayne Smith.

“This is an extensive scene unlike anything most of us have ever seen,” Smith said.

Investigators said the violence took place across three separate homes, creating a large and complex crime scene. Some of the victims were related to the suspect, indicating a domestic connection.

Authorities are still working to determine the sequence of events.
