Washington: Adm. Brad Cooper, commander of U.S. Central Command, announced Wednesday that the maritime blockade of Iranian ports has reached full implementation, asserting that American forces have established total naval dominance in the Middle East.

In a statement released on X, the commander confirmed the status of the operation and emphasised the strategic control maintained by U.S. naval assets. "A blockade of Iranian ports has been fully implemented as U.S. forces maintain maritime superiority in the Middle East," Cooper stated.

The admiral highlighted the profound economic implications of the manoeuvre, noting that approximately 90% of Iran’s financial stability is derived from international maritime commerce. According to Cooper, the military operation has achieved its primary objective with remarkable speed.

“In less than 36 hours since the blockade was implemented, US forces have completely halted economic trade going into and out of Iran by sea,” he added.
