The White House confirmed Friday night that Israel carried out a unilateral strike against Iran, emphasizing that the United States was not involved. Officials said the top priority remains protecting U.S. forces in the region.

The White House confirmed on Friday that the United States had no involvement in the operation where Israel launched a unilateral strike against Iran.
“We are not involved in strikes against Iran, and our top priority is protecting American forces in the region,” Secretary of State Marco Rubio said.
According to the statement, Israel informed the U.S. ahead of the action, framing it as a necessary move for its self-defence.
The administration emphasised that President Trump has taken “all necessary steps” to safeguard American personnel and is maintaining close contact with regional partners.
“Let me be clear: Iran should not target U.S. interests or personnel,” the statement noted.
The comments come amid growing tensions in the Middle East, as both regional and global powers closely monitor the situation. The U.S. reiterated that it is focused on de-escalation and protecting its forces, distancing itself from any direct military involvement.
