The UAE government has debunked reports claiming Indians and other nationalities could secure a lifetime Golden Visa through a one-time nomination fee

Dubai: The UAE government has firmly rejected claims that Indians and other nationals can now obtain a lifetime Golden Visa through a one-time payment under a so-called "nomination-based policy". The clarification comes after several media outlets, including some in India, reported misleading details based on a third-party press release.
What did the fake UAE Golden Visa offer claim?
A number of news reports published for past weeks, based on Press Trust of India wire and statements from a consulting firm, claimed that the UAE had launched a new Golden Visa scheme that would allow Indians and Bangladeshis to apply for a lifetime residency by paying AED 100,000 (around ₹23.3 lakh). These reports suggested that the nomination-based policy involved background checks, AML compliance, and a benefit assessment to the UAE economy.
Who debunked the claim?
On July 8, the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security (ICP) issued a strong statement denying the existence of such a policy. It clarified that all Golden Visa applications are processed solely via official UAE government channels and not through internal or external advisory firms.
What did the ICP say about advisory firms?
The ICP warned that some consulting offices abroad had released unauthorised press releases falsely claiming to facilitate Golden Visa requests. These actions, the authority said, have no legal basis and legal action will be taken against entities exploiting people’s dreams of living in the UAE.
The original reports widely circulated in Indian media suggested that over 5,000 Indians were expected to apply within three months, quoting Rayad Kamal Ayub of the Rayad Group. He claimed that the firm was authorised to conduct checks and nominations — a claim the UAE authorities have now dismissed as completely false.
What does the UAE government advise applicants?
The ICP reiterated that individuals wishing to apply for the Golden Visa should only refer to official government portals, such as the ICP website or smart application. They should not fall prey to misleading advertisements or third-party agents claiming to fast-track or guarantee visa approvals.
Will there be legal consequences?
The authority said it was pursuing legal action against those spreading false information for financial gain. It strongly condemned attempts to exploit the public through fabricated visa schemes.
The UAE Golden Visa continues to be governed by official procedures and eligibility criteria under UAE law. Any claims about lifetime visas for a fixed fee or through nominations are unfounded and potentially fraudulent. Applicants are advised to rely only on official sources to avoid scams.
