‘Nothing they can do’: Trump threatens heavy strike on Iran’s Natanz nuclear site

Washington DC: US President Donald Trump has issued a strong warning that the United States plans to target the area where Iran’s nuclear centrifuges are believed to be located near the Natanz nuclear facility.

Speaking to reporters, Trump said the US would hit the suspected location “pretty soon” and claimed Iran would have no way to prevent the action. “We’ll be hitting that area very, probably pretty soon, and there’s not a thing they can do about it,” Trump said.

He added that he would not normally reveal details about a possible military operation unless he believed Iran could not respond.

“Normally I wouldn’t say that. If I thought they could do something about it, I would never say that, but we’ll be hitting that area pretty soon, and very heavily,” Trump said.

Pickaxe Mountain becomes focus of nuclear concerns

The warning comes amid reports that Iran may have moved uranium enrichment centrifuges into the heavily fortified Pickaxe Mountain complex near Natanz.

The underground facility has become a major concern for Western officials and analysts because it is believed to be located deep beneath solid rock, making it difficult to target or monitor.

Reports suggest Israeli intelligence believes Iran may have transferred thousands of centrifuges to the site, raising concerns that Tehran could protect or restart parts of its nuclear programme even after attacks on other facilities.

US-Iran tensions continue to escalate

Trump’s comments come at a time of rising tensions between Washington and Tehran.

The United States has increased pressure on Iran through military actions, sanctions and diplomatic warnings, while Iran has faced international scrutiny over its nuclear activities.

Iran has not issued a detailed response to Trump’s latest remarks, and US officials have not announced any confirmed timeline for a possible strike.

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has previously said Iran informed the agency about nuclear-related plans involving the Pickaxe Mountain site, but inspectors have not received complete access or information about the facility.
