Singapore: Sharif Osman Hadi, a radical leader known for his anti-India and anti-Sheikh Hasina rhetoric, died in a Singapore hospital on Thursday after succumbing to injuries from an assassination attempt, officials said.
Hadi, who was wounded in the attack and airlifted to Singapore for treatment, could not be saved despite intensive medical efforts. "Despite the best efforts of the doctors, Mr Sharif Osman Hadi succumbed to his injuries," Singapore's Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.
The ministry did not provide further details on the timing of his death or the circumstances of the assassination attempt, but confirmed Hadi had been under care in the city-state.
