Doha: Qatar’s foreign ministry emphasised the severe regional risks of a potential conflict between the US and Iran.

Speaking at a press conference in Doha, spokesman Majed al-Ansari said, “We know that any escalation… would have catastrophic results in the region and beyond, and therefore we want to avoid that as much as possible.”

The warning comes amid heightened tensions following Iran’s crackdown on nationwide protests and the subsequent US threats of military action. Qatar’s statement reflects broader concerns in the Gulf over instability and the impact of international conflicts on regional security and economic stability.
