London: Britain’s Prince Andrew has been accused of behaving as though having sex with Virginia Giuffre, then 17, was his “birthright,” according to allegations detailed in her upcoming posthumous memoir, Nobody’s Girl: A Memoir of Surviving Abuse and Fighting for Justice.

Giuffre, the woman central to the Jeffrey Epstein scandal, alleged that she had sex with Andrew on three occasions, including when she was underage. Her claims first came to light when she accused Epstein of using her as a sex slave and said that Andrew had assaulted her. The prince, now 65, has consistently denied the allegations and settled the matter out of court with a multimillion-dollar payment, avoiding trial.

In excerpts published by The Guardian, Giuffre recalled meeting the Duke of York in London in March 2001, describing how he correctly guessed her age and remarked that his daughters were “a little younger.” Later that night, they went to the Tramp nightclub in central London, where she described Andrew as “a bumbling dancer” who “sweated profusely.”

Giuffre alleged that the pair later had sex at Ghislaine Maxwell’s London residence, writing that Andrew appeared “entitled — as if he believed having sex with me was his birthright.” The next morning, Maxwell allegedly told her, “You did well. The prince had fun,” after which Giuffre said Epstein paid her $15,000 for “servicing the man the tabloids called Randy Andy.”

Epstein died by suicide in a New York jail in 2019 while awaiting trial for trafficking underage girls, while Maxwell was sentenced to 20 years in prison in 2022 for her role in recruiting victims.

Giuffre, who held dual US and Australian citizenship, died at her Western Australia farm on April 25. Her death preceded the October 21 release of her memoir, published by Knopf.

Prince Andrew’s connection to Epstein has severely damaged his reputation and embarrassed the royal family. Once celebrated as a Falklands War hero and seen as Queen Elizabeth II’s favoured son, he now lives largely out of public view after a disastrous 2019 interview in which he denied knowing Giuffre and defended his friendship with Epstein.
