Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has warned Iran that any future attack on Israel will be met with a "much more powerful" response, as tensions escalate following fresh US strikes on Iranian targets.

Jerusalem: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Tuesday warned Iran against launching any fresh attack on Israel, saying any future retaliation would be "much more powerful" than the joint strikes carried out earlier this year with the United States.
Addressing a conference in Dimona, Netanyahu issued a direct message to Iran's leadership, saying Israel would no longer allow attacks to go unanswered.
"I will say it to the leaders of Iran: Do not count on things remaining quiet if you attack us," Netanyahu said.
He added that the period when Israel absorbed attacks without responding forcefully was over.
"The days are over when someone strikes us and we don't hit back with a decisive blow," he said.
Netanyahu also said any future military response would go well beyond the scale of previous operations conducted with Washington.
"Do not count on a rerun...Because it will not be a rerun, and that was already powerful enough. This will be a different event, much more powerful," he said, referring to earlier strikes on Iran.
The Israeli leader made the remarks in Dimona, home to Israel's nuclear research facility, which is widely believed by international experts to be linked to the country's undeclared nuclear weapons programme, although Israel has never officially confirmed possessing nuclear arms.
His warning comes amid renewed military escalation involving the United States and Iran. The US launched fresh strikes on Iranian targets on Tuesday, including the port city of Bushehr, where Iran's only civilian nuclear power plant is located.
The latest developments also follow US President Donald Trump's announcement that Washington would reimpose a blockade on Iranian ports, adding to pressure on Tehran.
Iran, in response to US military action that began three days ago, has launched missiles targeting US allies in the region, fuelling concerns that the confrontation could widen into a broader regional conflict.
