Jerusalem/Tehran: The Israeli military on Monday claimed to have destroyed nearly a third of Iran’s surface-to-surface missile launchers in a series of airstrikes, as hostilities between the two countries continued for a fourth consecutive day.

In a televised statement, Israeli military spokesperson Brigadier General Effie Defrin said, “More than 50 fighter jets and aircraft carried out strikes and destroyed over 120 surface-to-surface missile launchers. This amounts to one-third of the surface-to-surface missile launchers possessed by the Iranian regime.”

Meanwhile, Iranian media reported a fresh Israeli attack targeting western Iran. According to the Tasnim news agency, “The Zionist regime has brutally attacked the fire department building at the Musiyan municipality,” in Ilam province. Footage released by the outlet showed smoke rising from the site.

As tensions escalated, Iran called on the UN’s International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to condemn Israeli strikes on its nuclear facilities. “We expect the IAEA Board of Governors and the Director General to take a firm position in condemning this act and holding the regime (Israel) accountable,” said Iranian foreign ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei during a weekly press briefing.
